In 1912, the Austrian architect Adolf Loos developed an alternate plan for the Vienna Ringstraße, as he was not satisfied with the “results” he saw in the beginning of the 20th century – starting from the situation in 1859, when the fortifications had been removed and the now free space was opened up to urban development.
